Rehoboth Beach dodged yet another hurricane, much like we did with Irene last year. Here’s a link to my column about Irene. Sandy punched us with hurricane force winds and 10 inches of rain (according to my measurements two blocks from the beach) but, luckily, we were on the south side of the storm and got off easy.

Beach scene two hours before Sandy came ashore. I swear the waves were at least 20 feet high.

My desk by the fire. A great place to “write out” the storm.

The Gazebos on Silver Lake appear to float. This photo from the day after represents just how close we came in Rehoboth to disaster.
